MORNING DETOX GREEN JUICE

Hey guys! So lately I’ve been feeling a little bloated in my abdominal area because I haven’t been eating as clean as I should. I know, I know *covers face*. Luckily for me, juicing is a great way to detox and rid the body of impurities that may cause bloating.

I’m not talking about those store-bought “natural” juices. These are full of sugar, additives and preservatives, and they are not healthy at all. Even if they are made with real fruits, they are pasteurized, so almost all their nutrients are gone. Your best bet is to make fresh juices at home.

Green juices are great because they condense several servings of fruit, vegetables, and other super-foods into a single, easy-to-consume drink. They are especially great if you have a hard time fitting in greens in your diet. There are many benefits to drinking green juice.

BENEFITS OF DRINKING GREEN JUICE

  • Improves Gut Health
  • Delays Aging
  • Boosts Energy
  • Supports Immune System
  • Promotes Detoxification
  • Reduces Inflammation
  • Lowers Blood Pressure

I have an awesome recipe that I want to share with you guys. I have been drinking this on an empty stomach after working out in the morning and it’s been doing wonders! The ingredients are very affordable and you can find them at your local grocery store or supermarket. The instructions are really simple. You just need to wash all the ingredients, chop and combine them in a juice extractor , process and you’re good to go!

MORNING DETOX GREEN JUICE RECIPE

Everyone needs a go-to green juice recipe that is easy to make and delicious. This recipe is exactly that. I love drinking this juice fresh when all the enzymes are intact but you can definitely make a small batch and store it in the refrigerator for no longer than 72 hours. To get the most benefit out of your green juices, use fresh organic produce and store in a well sealed glass container.

Opt for cucumbers that are dark green with minimal to no yellow spots – these spots tend to develop once the cucumber becomes overly ripe. If your cucumbers have wax on the outside, make sure to wash them properly to remove the wax.

Juice the cucumber with the peel on (remove if not organic), the peel contains beta-carotene, an important antioxidant that the body converts to Vitamin A.

The juice extractor I use is the Jack Lalane Fusion Juicer. If you don’t have a juice extractor, not to worry, you can also use a blender. However, you will need to add water and strain to remove the pulp. Please leave a comment if you make this juice and let me know what you think. Cheers!

Why protein should be included in your diet While our bodies are capable of making certain amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, there are are others, called essential amino acids, that can only be obtained through food. Because our bodies are constantly turning over tissue, new proteins are needed to replace degraded existing proteins. Cell growth, repair, and main...
