The One Workout Mistake Most Women Make, According To A Trainer

Most women want to be healthy and fit, but aren't exactly sure how to get there. When they arrive at the gym they're not totally confident in which machines to use, whether they should lift weights or stick to cardio only and exactly how long they need to work out to see results. If that's how you feel, you need to see this list of common mistakes women make and how they can fix them to finally see the results they want!

The One Workout Mistake Most Women Make, According To A Trainer

Answer: Being too intimated to weight train!

Many woman stick to cardio only at the gym because it's their comfort zone--but this is a big no-no. "Weight training is so important for getting a lean, toned and defined physique," explains fitness expert Jessica Rumbaugh Gouthro of Live Lean TV. It also causes you to burn more calories when you're not working out. "This is how you make results happen!"

Also: Not working out together.

The buddy system works! "It's so important that you have community support, this is what helps us girls stay on track," says Gouthro. "Go right now and reach out to one of your girlfriends who might be interested in working out with you."

And: Not really knowing what to do in the gym!

You won't hit your goals if you don't have goals in mind and a clear plan when you hit the gym. "If you don't know what to do in the gym, then you should be following a workout program that's designed for your goals," explains Gouthro. "If you're not sure what your goals are, I highly recommend you take a minute to think about. Think about what you really want to do with your time at the gym, so you're not wasting it."

Using machines that don't work!

Experts agree that machines like the elliptical aren't worth your time at the gym. Most women feel as though they need to clock 40+ minutes on the cardio machines to see results, when the truth is that you can get better results in less time with strength and resistant training.

Why protein should be included in your diet While our bodies are capable of making certain amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, there are are others, called essential amino acids, that can only be obtained through food. Because our bodies are constantly turning over tissue, new proteins are needed to replace degraded existing proteins. Cell growth, repair, and main...
