3 Super Healthy Smoothies to Start Your Morning With

3 super smoothies for weight loss

Today I’d love to share with you 3 vegan-friendly weight loss smoothie recipes that I absolutely adore.

While on my own weight loss journey I’ve soon realized that a lot of the smoothies out there are high in sugar. That’s not ideal when you’re trying to lose weight.

While a lot of fruit smoothies are delicious, their sugar content can be a little bit overwhelming and add up to the calorie count.

So, I’ve been experimenting with smoothies to make them higher in protein, fats, and still keep them delicious.

I’ve also made a video on these smoothies, so if you prefer visual content, feel free to check it out.

3 Healthy Smoothies for Weight Loss

1. Chia, Hemp, Spinach and Banana Super Smoothie

This smoothie contains chia seeds that have multiple health benefits. They’re an amazing source of fiber, calcium, magnesium, manganese and even phosphorus.

Most of the carbs they contain are actually fiber which is exactly what you want in a healthy diet.

In fact, studies show that soluble fiber (that chia seeds contain) can contribute towards weight loss.

The smoothie also contains hemp seeds that are simply packed with proteins. These are very important for weight loss, maintaining strength and building muscle.

It’s very important to incorporate products packed with protein into your diet, especially if you are vegan. So, hemp seeds are definitely one of those must-have products.

Other two very important ingredients are spinach and banana. These are both are high in potassium that is one of the most essential electrolytes in the human body.

2. Pre-Workout Raspberry and Redcurrant Smoothie

This is my favorite pre-workout smoothie for multiple reasons. First of all, it’s sweet and higher in carbs.

Secondly, the acidity of the smoothie wakes you and freshens you up. Finally, it’s very light on the stomach!

My workouts at the gym are usually long and intense, so having a light smoothie beforehand is exactly what I need. This smoothie will provide you with the very much needed energy to kill it in the gym!

It’s made out of raspberries that are an amazing source of fiber and vitamin C. So, if you have digestion problems you could drink it too since dietary fiber directly benefits it.

Redcurrants have similar features to raspberries. They’re high in vitamin C and fiber but also have some iron which is especially important for the formation of red blood cells.

Finally, you’ll notice that the smoothie is not very high in protein nor fats. However, it’s pretty low in its caloric value too.

It’s really one of those treat-yourself smoothies that you can drink when you’re craving for something sweeter than usual (or more acidic).

3. Chocolate Smoothie

There is nothing better than a good old chocolate smoothie. Now, this smoothie is not too sweet and I encourage you to add a little bit of maple syrup if you’re a real sweet tooth.

However, it can kill some of your chocolate cravings for sure.

Even though it’s a chocolate smoothie, it’s still a good source of proteins and fats. And that’s what I love about it!

Proteins are large molecules found in living cells. Proteins are like building blocks to build tissues in the human body, such as muscle tissue, bones, blood, and even hormones. Proteins function as enzymes, antibodies, and they assist in maintaining fluid balance. Why protein should be included in your diet While our bodies are capable of making certain amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, there are are others, called essential amino acids, that can only be obtained through food. Because our bodies are constantly turning over tissue, new proteins are needed to replace degraded existing proteins. Cell growth, repair, and main...
